Become a Member of Equality Virginia Advocates!

Equality Virginia Advocates isn’t an exclusive club but rather is an inclusive community of GLBT individuals, allies and supportive and cooperating organizations and companies who are committed to making Virginia a place where everyone shares the same basic human right to live and work with dignity and free from violence.

Membership and participation in Equality Virginia Advocates is open to all regardless of race, religion, age, national origin, gender, political affiliation, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Any individual who agrees with the philosophy and goals of Equality Virginia Advocates may become a member of Equality Virginia Advocates.

And, Equality Virginia Advocates’ power and influence grows with every member we have!

Here's how to become a member of Equality Virginia Advocates:

Member

You do not have to be a donor to Equality Virginia Advocates to be a member, but you do have agree to be part of our action network or otherwise provide written evidence of your support for our goals (e.g., by signing an EVA petition, signing up to volunteer to work the polls or attend our annual Lobby Day). 

Contributing and Voting Member

You may choose to become a Contributing and Voting Member of EVA by making a financial contribution each year. There is no minimum contribution required to become a voting member. 

The only requirement is that you give something each year (in addition to program registration fees, dinner tickets and auction purchases).

When you think about the amount of your membership contribution, we ask that you consider making EVA one of your most significant investments. In addition to the volunteer work you do, your financial contribution will help assure that we have the means to keep working together toward our mutual goals. And, there simply is no other organization working statewide in Virginia to change laws and change lives for the GLBT community.

If you think of this as a “dues” payment, suggested annual dues for an individual are $35.00 and for a household, $60.00.

Sustaining Member

And, you may choose to become a Sustaining Member of EVA by making a contribution each month. Your monthly contribution doesn’t have to be large to have a big impact. And, the ability for us (and you) to budget and count on the amount is very important.

Just giving up a $3.50 latte a week ($14.00 a month) equals a contribution of $168.00 a year! That amount will support over 350 miles in travel for our Richmond based staff to travel across Virginia to provide training, meet with legislators or speak at your local business group, school, church, temple or mosque.
